Part name

Anyone know what the name is for the plastic strip at the end of the slide out that holds the canvas in place?

when you say "slide out", what do you mean?
the pull-out bed ends or an actual slideout on the side of the trailer? on a popup, both have canvas attached.

it would help if you posted pics of what you're talking about.

On what type of a camper? I'm guessing it is a Pop up, since you said "hold the canvas in place", and also guessing on the manufacturer; Rockwood or Flagstaff? Possibly a Roo? Need more specific info. to answer that, if you could. I'm sure someone has the answer. Randy

2011 Rockwood 232 Tent Trailer. Part is the white plastic strip that attaches the canvas to the end of the slide out bed as shown (if I was able to attach the photos).

I don't know what it is called, but mine broke and I got replacements directly from Forest River parts dept last fall. In fact I bought 3 so I would have a spare. I am expecting that it will break again.
The part was cheap and the response time was quick..

Budrock, thanks for the reply. I've been waiting for any response on this question. I'm glad to hear Forest River responded quickly. I have a brand new Rockwood 323 tent trailer that's essentially unusable because of a CO/LP detector that goes off every 15 minutes and it has a couple minor issues like the one above. I've gone to my dealer who has the parts ordered but says "Forest River is just super slow so we won't get the parts for 3 weeks or so".

This really sucks as it's prime camping time and I have this brand new trailer I can't use.

If you have a contact at Forest River, that would be just awesome! Thanks.

have you checked the battery? that's also a symptom of a low 12v battery.

It doesn't matter if it's plugged in to shore power, running off the generator or running off the battery. If the battery is low it will beep once about every couple minutes. It's going off with repetetive loud beeping that can only be quieted by holding the reset button. I've even tried completely disconnecting the propane tanks. Doesn't matter.

Try sleeping through that! The only way to get through the night is to pull the fuse (but then the heater and interior lights won't work!). Total nightmare. Makes the RV completely unusable.

I had propane detector do that happen to me too one night while camping. I ended up taping something over the reset button to hold it in order to get it to stop. It did it again another time but has not done it again.

I asked the RV repair guy about it and he said that it was a common occurrence and that the all he could do is try to replace it in case it was defective. Apparently many different things will set it off included the fumes that new form gives off and spray cans. He also said that he wasn't suggesting it but that many people have cut the power to the detector.

Interesting side note. I did get a propane leak the year before last. I did not know what a propane leak smelled like. I thought that I had camped over sulfur water cause it smelled like rotten eggs. Then I read something on like that was what a propane leak smelled like. Well the interesting part is that the stupid propane detector never made a sound apparently because the leak was outside. I could smell it inside as we sleep right over the propane bottle where the hose was leaking
