Our Wildcat Mess!

We purchased our new Wildcat 293REX from Byerly RV at the end of January 2013. This being our 3rd camper purchased in the past 10 years - we were so excited to move up to the 5th wheel. BUT, this camper has been nothing but a nightmare since we purchased it. We have had it back to the dealer two times already with another scheduled visit this week. The underpinning was completely falling off from beneath the camper, the dining/living room slides would not function, now the wardrobe slide motor is out and the slides leak, I’m not talking a small leak, I’m saying water is running down over top of my cabinets – to the point where the cabinet seams are splitting, the drawers are warped and my carpet is still wet! I’ve explained to the dealer that I want the cabinets and flooring replaced – all’s they can say is ‘we have to see what repairs the manufacturer approves’ -- well Forest River, here’s your heads up that a request is coming your way!

First off, welcome to the Forum. There are a lot of great folks here and a wealth of information too.

Yes, by all means contact Wildcat Chris on this forum by Private Message. Tell him of your woes and it will help to include the trailer's VIN number.

Keep in mind, while some of the members on this forum are employees of Forest River, this site has no affiliation with Forest River Inc.

According to the Internet - the lemon laws don't apply to RVs. Don't know if it's true or not.

Do you have any idea how the water is getting in?
If it continues, and the water gets into the floor, the whole camper could be ruined.
FR had better take good care of you, as this should never happen.

I have discovered that most likely something was lost in translation to the higher ups of what the problems are. I would continue to talk to the folks at Forest River and be calm and state your dissatisfactions and explain why they bother you.

They will then be able to direct your dealer better as to the fixes and repairs can get underway and you will be back out on the road ASAP.

Hoping for a better outcome for you!

Thanks so much for all the support and information, I've reached out to Forest River and have been directed to the appropriate person for my area, Rod Batts...Rod responded right away and had contacted my dealership directly to get the ball rolling! We've taken the RV into the dealership and am now just awaiting the call back on how they will proceed.
Keeping our fingers crossed!
Thank you Forest River for stepping up!

We to have had issues with our 344bh. We just got it back from the dealer last week and are waiting to test all the repairs out. It took some time but after contacting Rod Batts and Wildcat Chris, the help we were looking for came thru. All I need now is the free time to go and use the beautiful camper that we bought.

Congrats on the new 344 Qb!
Sorry about the problems.....makes us all more comfortable knowing that the boys at F. River took care of you!
Please if you don't mind me asking (I do this often since my 344 arrives Friday) , what types of issues were you having?

We had the hot water heater issue. 2nd gen unit installed, waiting to test. Level-Up system kept blowing the 10 amp fuse that fed the main circuit board, lose wires, bad crimps, wired at end of load center so possible low voltage issue. Tech rewired seems to be ok. Step to master bed room was crooked. Bolt in wall in master bed room was striped out and sticking out of the wall, tech reinstalled in new location, Wiring in main power panel miss marked and wires installed in wrong circuits, corrected. There were some other small problems that weren't a big deal. Our big issue is that this unit should have never been shipped with out the quality control people doing there job. Wondering what has happened to TAKING PRIDE IN YOUR JOB NO MATTER HOW BIG OR SMALL IT IS. I do have to give props to Rod Batts for getting the repairs we needed handled. I would like to meet him in person and shake his hand for a job well done.

we had our`s in for the hot water twice but I got on the phone with girard and fixed it myself.. as for taking pride I think the QC manger is always busy doing something else besides his job. we do like our unit but what left the factory is nothing but issues that I have to fix
