Shore Line Power Reel Hatch 2017 38EL
Curious, our 2017 has no pull through hatch, only open the main hatch to pull the 50 amp power cord. See pictures of various other 2017 and they have this small hatch. Little more convenient than leaving the hatch open.

That reel was the first thing jettisoned from my Silverback. For us it was cumbersome, took up valuable cargo space, and just plain had no value. Laid in the back of my pick up bed or coiled up in a clothes basket is our solution.

I really like our cord reel, takes up very little space.

Not really: I need the hatch open to remove our bins required for set-up such as potable water hoses and filter, sewer lines and support, the electrical bin with the surge suppressor and the cable for the TV. So we just pull the 50 AMP cord out and hook up to the outside wall connector when we are setting up. Than the compartment door is closed until I need to drain the tanks.
The other models that you see with a small hatch and electrical cable maybe a 30AMP electrical cord. This is usually just pushed into the compartment and stored there. Sometimes these can catch on something and be a real pain on getting out of that compartment.

Ours is a single door, as well. I sorta wish we had the one as pictured above but that's a lot of latches for a small area.

That looks like an electric reel to me so you would have a switch to allow the cable to go in and out, I believe. This is what JAYCO offers on their top of the line 5th wheel. Notice the label on the right top side, I believe that's giving instructions on what to do for electric cord.

The OP's point is that CC uses/used two different doors for the access to the reel; a solid door and the split door.

That's not what he posted in this first post. He was showing an example of how others have done it. Least that's how I took it.

If you want one real bad you may want to try Cedar Creek Division they could probably order one for you through your dealer. (at a price)

If you read the OP's subject and description, it is very easy to understand exactly what he is saying. It is specific to the Champagne 38EL model.
I would contact Cedar Creek factory for new replacement door.

Our door is one piece. I wish it had the smaller pass through as seen in the picture as seen on a few 2017 CC 38ELs. Would have made less opening for critters to get in.
